This course is intended for candidates who need to develop their counselling skills further and to understand the theoretical roots of counselling for use in an occupational setting. For many, this will be a further step towards becoming a counselling practitioner.

Advanced Apprenticeships are work based training programmes which lead to a National Vocational Qualification at Level 3. Depending on the vocational area, duration can be from one to four years. Candidates must be employed within the vocational area.
Government guidelines state that aprpentices should be employed for at least 30 hours a week including their time in College; there is flexibility so please discuss individual circumstances at interview.
Candidates will need to be employed in a childcare setting or working with young people and show competence in both theory and practice.
Two years part time.

Apprenticeships are training programmes designed for students of all age groups (above 16 years) who have left full time education and are in employment. Apprenticeships are open to those have just left school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career. Apprenticeships are training programmes leading to a National Vocational Qualification at Level 2. Apprentices must be employed within the vocational area. Candidates need to have a good understanding of English and need to be employed in an appropriate environment. Candidates will usually have one of the following: grade C on the CACHE Level 2 Childcare course or four GCSEs at grade C or above.

Candidates will be allocated an assessor who will visit the workplace to action plan the candidate’s progress and set tasks to be completed. Assessment will also take place in the workplace.
