Advanced Apprenticeships are work based training programmes which lead to a National Vocational Qualification at Level 3. Depending on the vocational area, duration can be from one to four years. Candidates must be employed within the vocational area.
This qualification develops the knowledge and skills of all those who wish to work in a senior role with adults in Health and Social Care.
Government guidelines state that apprentices should be employed for at least 30 hours a week including their time in College; there is flexibility so please discuss individual circumstances at interview.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements, although applicants should have a good understandingt of English and experience within a care setting. Candidates need to be at least 19 years of age and working in a practical placement .
Content
Promoting communication, equality and inclusion, duty of care, personal development and health and safety; dementia and learning disability pathways are available.
Additional Information
The candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit in the workplace to plan the candidate’s progress and set tasks, and to make their assessment. The candidate will need to attend training to take part in some group activities and be taught sessions which cannot be conducted on a one-to-one basis.
