CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement in the Care sector

This qualification is for those who assess both occupational competence and vocational skills, knowledge and understanding in the Care sector.

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements, although candidates must have professional competence and an up to date working knowledge and experience in the standards being assessed.  They should also have held a post for aminimum of one year and have performed the activities being assessed within the last two years.  Candidates should also have a level 3 qualification appropriate to the standards they are assessing against

CACHE Level 2 Apprenticeship – Certificate for the Children’s and Young People’s Workforce -16-18 years

This qualification is for candidates who wish to work in the Children and Young People’s Workforce and are under 18 years of age.  Candidates will be allocated an assessor who will visit in the workplace to plan and assess.  Attendance is necessary one day a week at College to take part in group activities and tasks.

Government guidelines state that apprentices should be employed for at least 30 hours a week including their time in College; there is flexibility so please discuss individeual circumstances at interview.

Entry Requirements

Candidates will normally have at least one of the following: a pass on the CACHE Level 1 Childcare Award or 4 GCSEs at grade D or above. Additionally, they should be working in a suitable environment with childcare or working with young people .

Introduction to equality and inclusion, communication, personal development, child and young person development, safeguarding welfare, health and safety,  managing illness and injury.

Topics covered will include communication, equality and inclusion, personal development, safeguarding welfare, supporting health and safety, paediatric First Aid, illness and injury and maintaining and supporting relationships with children and young people.

Advanced Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care – CACHE Level 3 Diploma (19+ years)

Advanced Apprenticeships are work based training programmes which lead to a National Vocational Qualification at Level 3.  Depending on the vocational area, duration can be from one to four years. Candidates must be employed within the vocational area.

This qualification develops the knowledge and skills of all those who wish to work in a senior role with adults in Health and Social Care.

Government guidelines state that apprentices should be employed for at least 30 hours a week including their time in College; there is flexibility so please discuss individual circumstances at interview.

There are no formal entry requirements, although applicants should  have a good understandingt of English and experience within a care setting.  Candidates need to be at least 19 years of age and working in a practical placement .

Promoting communication, equality and inclusion, duty of care, personal development and health and safety; dementia and learning disability pathways are available.

The candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit in the workplace to plan the candidate’s progress and set tasks, and to make their assessment. The candidate will need to attend training to take part in some group activities and be taught sessions which cannot be conducted on a one-to-one basis.

Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care – CACHE Level 2 Diploma (19+ years)

Apprenticeships are training programmes designed for students of all age groups (above 16 years) who have left full time education and are in employment.  Apprenticeships are open to those have  just left school, have been working for years or are seeking to start a new career.  Apprenticeships are training programmes leading to a National Vocational Qualification at Level 2.  Apprentices must be employed within the vocational area.  Government guidelines state that apprentices should be employed for at least 30 hours a week including their time in College; there is flexibility so please discuss individual circumstances at interview.

AQA Award in Introduction to Counselling Concepts

This course is intended for candidates who are curious about counselling and want to find out more as a step towards further training. It will introduce candidates to basic counselling skills .
